Supporting local homelessness charity

Around this time of year a number of our team would normally be taking part in the Long Eaton Sleep Out to raise awareness of homelessness in the area and to raise funds for the Canaan Trust.

The charity has been providing supported accommodation for homeless men in and around Erewash since 1995, and the annual Sleep Out is one its main fundraising events. But due to social distancing restrictions the event had to be cancelled this year, and the trust will lose out.

As our volunteers were unable to raise funds through sponsorship, we have decided to make a donation to the charity instead.

Homelessness is having a devastating effect on the lives of people in our communities, and we are seeing record numbers needing the services of charities like the Canaan Trust. We have a strong working relationship with the charity, and in the year that it celebrates its 25th anniversary we are pleased to be able to continue to support them.

You can join us in donating to the trust via its website.
