Resident thanks caring housing association for saving her money
"I’m so lucky to have had my home of 25 years looked after by such a caring and competent housing association."
A 91-year-old resident of an emh homes sheltered housing scheme in Hugglescote, Leicestershire, was so impressed by her new heating system, doors and windows that she wrote to her local MP complimenting emh homes.
Betty Newton was the first tenant to move into Peggs Grange when it opened 25 years ago, and is delighted that the original storage heaters have finally been replaced.
“I read so much bad press about housing associations that I feel there needed to be some acknowledgement of the good that does happen. Over the past three weeks they have kindly replaced my heating system to reduce running costs,” Betty wrote to Andrew Bridgen, MP for North West Leicestershire.
“I really don’t know how to thank you enough, you have all been professional and caring and you have treated me wonderfully, you really have,” Betty told the emh green team. "I’m so lucky to have had my home of 25 years looked after by such a caring and competent housing association.”
Chan Kataria, emh group Chief Executive, visited Betty to thank her for her kind words and to take a look at the work the emh green team has carried out.
The new air source heat pump and other improvements will save Betty up to 50% on her fuel bills!
