emh homes scoops top eco award
It was a good night for Coalville-based emh homes at the East Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards on 18 April. A groundbreaking project which saw the installation of 433 air source heat pumps scooped the Large Scale Project prize at the ceremony held at the Radisson Blu East Midlands Airport Hotel.
Covering residential, industrial and commercial properties, the award recognises the efforts of everyone involved in delivering a successful large scale energy saving project while maintaining excellent customer service, and that demonstrates a high standard of quality workmanship throughout the project.
The team was also Highly Commended in two other categories, Housing Association/Landlord and Small Scale Project, the latter in conjunction with T & S Heating and Kensa Heat Pumps, for the installation of ground source heat pumps at homes in Market Harborough. A Commendation in the Vulnerable Customer Support Campaigner category was also later added to the list of accolades.
The awards were set up in 2014 to provide public recognition of the work being carried out by the energy efficiency sector in the East Midlands in the delivery of firstly the Green Deal Finance Initiative, and subsequently many further energy efficiency schemes.
Adrian Cheetham, Property Services Director at emh homes, said: “Winning this award and receiving the commendations reflect our commitment to energy efficiency and carbon reduction. Not only in future-proofing our properties, but in helping residents reduce their energy bills and tackling fuel poverty. We are thrilled to have won.”
