emh group wins prestigious UK development award
"We are thrilled to have won this award. It shows that the types of homes we are delivering all across the East Midlands are just what are needed to meet the diverse needs of our communities."

Leicestershire-based social housing and care provider emh group has won the prestigious UK Housing Award for Outstanding Development Programme.
The award was one of 13 presented at the twentieth annual UK Housing Awards ceremony held on 26 April at the Lancaster London Hotel in Bayswater, hosted by impressionist and comedian Rory Bremner.
The awards recognise the achievements of housing organisations across the country in improving the lives of people in their communities, and are organised by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing magazine.
Creating homes across the East Midlands, the diversity of emh group’s development programme encompasses homes for local people in rural communities, regeneration sites in urban areas, and pioneering health and housing integration with extra care schemes for people with support needs. Many of the new homes are built to the highest possible eco standard, and future-proofed to be able to adapt to the changing needs of residents.
The programme follows emh group’s plan to build the right homes in the right places for the right people.
The long-term and effective partnerships the group has built up over many years – with funders, developers, and local authorities in particular - are crucial to its success. And with a solid track record and a fully-funded pipeline programme, the group plans to build at least 900 new homes over the next three years, ranging from homes for affordable rent to low cost home ownership properties.
Chan Kataria, emh group Chief Executive, said: “We are thrilled to have won this award. It shows that the types of homes we are delivering all across the East Midlands are just what are needed to meet the diverse needs of our communities.”
