We are proud to be a member of PlaceShapers, a national network of more than 100 community-focused housing associations.

Together, the associations own and manage more than 750,000 homes, provide services to more than two million people, and employ over 70% of their staff locally.

PlaceShapers’ work involves:

  • Lobbying and influencing politicians and stakeholders on the issues that matter to place-based housing associations
  • Running special interest groups and events and providing opportunities for members to collaborate
  • Providing access to expertise and advice and opportunities for learning from other housing organisations

Top priorities for members currently include the cost-of-living crisis, levelling up and decarbonisation.

Group Chief Executive, Chan Kataria, said: "It is vital that at a time of fundamental change the voice of medium-sized community-based housing associations is loud and strong, and that we collectively articulate the importance of what we do in shaping places and communities.”
